A Little over month back we faced
the most familiar dialogue “Mera pyare deshwasiyon...!” But what followed this cuddly line changed
our life! In a matter of minutes I started feeling like an earthworm. Nothing
in hand! My purse is full of waste paper! As it dawned the following days my only worry
was how to get money which can be used. 100 rupee note became my new hero!
People waiting to see the new avatar of Gandhiji were longer than ever...All
banks looked like ration shops or railway ticket booking counters... Overnight
the bank fellows who used to pester for deposits and accounts became all the
more powerful, authoritative and dominating...

ARTIFICIAL PANCREAS IS HERE .... NO MORE PRICKS!!
A
dream come true moment in the history of Diabetes – “September 28, 2016” FDA
approved the Medtronic hybrid closed loop system. This is the first approved system
to automate the dosing of insulin to reduce high blood sugar levels. The Medtronic MiniMed 670G artificial
pancreas system is a result of innovations, ground breaking technologies
and out of the box thinking. This system is composed of an intelligent pump, 4th
generation sensors and software integrating these to create what I would like
to call as a Technological Marvel. In India the use of Insulin pump for
management for Diabetes has increased over the years. Mainly used in Type 1
Diabetes patients, insulin pumps are also used now in patients with
uncontrolled Type 2 Diabetes, brittle diabetes or in patients with phobia for
needles. This artificial pancreas would be boon for these patients and would
help them lead a near normal life without a needle prick!

GYMNEMA SYLVESTRE
I had written about #Gymnema sylvestre and its effects on #Diabetes few months back. When www.healthydietfordiabetics.com asked me to write about this less known useful herb I just couldn't give up the opportunity.
Naturally I went ahead and grabbed it!
Took some articles based on research work and compiled.
In the process I also learnt many things
Here goes my article on GYMNEMA SYLVESTRE

SLOW SUICIDE!! DO WE CARE... ?
I am bored of life...
For whom should I live??
I keep forgetting...
It is too costly for my age
I am just waiting for “HIS” call
Nobody needs me!
Too many types of medicines are just confusing!!
Haven’t we heard this all.... YES! Anyone managing a chronic disorder like Diabetes or Hypertension has spoken these words one time or the other. Management of chronic diseases is a network. It starts with the patient but, involves family members, care givers, doctors and society as a whole.

SNIPPETS !!
I am back!
After a long hiatus here I am with my short
write-up...
Since this is the first post in 2016 I thought it
would be prudent to start with changes in 2016.
Well nothing much has changed in terms of personal
or professional life. But...
A group of dedicated professionals are constantly
monitoring the world over for subtle evidences in Diabetes which would make the
quality of life better!
Yes...... I am talking about the American Diabetes
Association (ADA).
This year the American Diabetes Association has
focussed on preventive aspects – Prevention of Diabetes, Prevention of
cardiovascular complications due to elevated blood cholesterols.
Here are the crux points which we need to consider
Luckily i came to know that Government of India in
view of the impact of Diabetes is planning to prepare its own guidelines.
This
is a welcome measure from the health ministry & GOI.
I wish it clears all
official hurdles and Indian Guidelines for Management of Diabetes is released
soon.
